Commissioned Work
Julie Anne Denton works as head of design for Swiss firm Atelier #315 based in Zürich. Through Atelier #315 and in her private capacity as an artist/designer/academic Julie writes for glass based periodicals and takes on commissions. The commissions take on a variety of guises but essentially, they can be broken up into four types. Namely, Private Clients who commission her to create work specifically for them. Industry who ofttimes employ her to work in a research and design capacity creating solutions to special objects for companies. Institutions often request site specific work or commission Julie in one of her expertise areas, such as the re-creation of ancient objects in glass. Finally, the Miscellaneous category includes making work with and on the behalf of fine artists and working for brands both as a maker or as a demonstration attraction for their customers.
